Meredith is a ANCC Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who provides psychiatric evaluation and medication management services for adults 18 years old and over. Meredith is passionate about a holistic approach to healthcare, and recognizes the importance of addressing the various components of one's life in order to best tackle the root of the problem. Through her own experiences, Meredith has discovered how much lifestyle factors, such as gut health, affect overall mental and physical health, and she is eager to share this knowledge when working with patients.
Meredith graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Master's of Science in Nursing degree, as well as with an Advanced Forensic Nursing subspecialty due to an interest in criminology, victimology, and various forms of trauma. She is also currently enrolled at The Institute for Functional Medicine. Meredith began her career as a Registered Nurse (RN) in 2013, when she started working in the Surgical ICU, and from there progressed to various high acuity positions. From her experience as an RN in the hospital setting, Meredith recognized a profound need for comprehensive resources for patients, including that of mental health, which is what ultimately propelled her to specialize in the mental health field.
As a Nurse Practitioner, Meredith has experience in treating depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders, grief, ADHD, OCD, PTSD, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, insomnia due to a mental condition, nicotine dependence, mental disorders post traumatic brain injury, chronic pain with antidepressant therapy, and dementia with behavioral disturbance.
